  • Will I be an EU citizen?
    Yes, you and your family members will be EU citizens and will have an EU passport. Malta is a member state of the EU and the Schengen Area. As a citizen of Malta, you are also an EU citizen. This means that you can move freely within the EU and can live, work and study in any EU country.
  • Can I send my children to any European university?
    Yes, your children have access to European education in the same way as all other EU citizens. This means that education is either free or you have to pay the tuition fees applicable to EU students.
  • Do I have to pay taxes in Malta?
    You should not pay any municipal tax, inheritance tax, net worth tax or wealth tax. Malta has double taxation treaties with nearly 60 countries.
